In Andhra Pradesh state, the secondary education is regulated by the Andhra Pradesh Board only. Andhra Pradesh is completely known as the Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh (BSEAP). This board was constructed in the year 1953 and since then it is regulating and supervising the system of higher education in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The board is also called as the Directorate of Government Examination. The board has also provided affiliation to massive number of schools in the state. It is the board ‘ s responsibility only to govern the course of study, prescribing syllabus, giving direction, support and conducting the examinations etc. For all the affiliated schools. BSEAP mainly conducts examinations for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and for the Open School Society Certificate (OSSC).

The Andhra Pradesh board also organizes board examinations for the 10th and 12th class students every year. For every session the board examination by BSEAP are organized in the month of March to April and further the supplementary examination are organized in May to June. This year also these examinations were conducted and are now completed. But the board has decided that from the session of 2016 – 17, they will issue the new syllabus for the SSC 10th standard. The pattern of the examination will also be having some variations. Along with these the new sample model papers will also be distributed among all the students, studying under the Andhra Pradesh Board.

When this announcement was made by the board, all the students were very keen to know about the new exam pattern & syllabus. Unfortunately, the Andhra Pradesh board has not yet mentioned any particular date to release the new syllabus, pattern and model papers for the SSC. The Andhra Board has mentioned that they will show the new syllabus and pattern on their official site, the site is www.bseap.org. when the new syllabus will officially will revealed, all the schools affiliated under the Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh, will have to follow this new syllabus and pattern for the exams. – later save the new exam pattern, syllabus and new model papers.

The new model papers and pattern will be available for the subjects of Telugu, English, Mathematics, Hindi, Social Studies and Science etc. The new syllabus and pattern will bring improvement in quality of education for the higher classes and will also bring the appropriate weight age to the lower classes to the higher classes. In the new exam pattern it is stated that the exam will now be for 60 marks, in which 40 marks will be for the students performance and remaining 20 marks will be for the class assessment. The number of questions has also been decreased by the board. The officials has also increased the duration of the exam. As they have provided extra 15 minutes for the students to read the questions properly and then start writing the exam. Earlier the duration of the exam was 2 hours 30 minutes and now it will be 2 hours 45 minutes. For more details visit the site as stated earlier.
