How to Get Address Proof From Post Office

  1. Go to the nearest nearby post office and obtain the form for address proof from there. The form will cost Rs.10 only.
  2. Fill the form with all the mandatory details asked on the form.
  3. After completing the form submit it in the respective post office along with a fee of Rs.240.
  4. Then a postman will be sent by the postal department to verify the address, provided by you.
  5. When the verification will be done in all senses then the address ID card will be provided to you.
  6. The address proof card can take about 2 months but it also depends on the nearby post office services.

All the citizens can also download the form from the website of the Indian Post Office. The address proof card will be valid for three years from the date of formation. After 3 years the cards needs to be renewed. The fee will be charged as Rs.240 for the new card, Rs.140 for the renewal of the card and Rs.90 will be charged for the duplicate card.

The card can then be used as for the identity proof or even the address proof. Not all the post offices has authorized to provide this card. So the citizens needs to find out which nearby post office is providing this facility. This Address proof card will be useful for all the citizens even to those who are living in the remote areas.
