With this recent development in the process of applying for a ration card, the government has really made a huge step towards a more convenient and easily approachable while time saving method for families that have to apply for ration cards. The families that belong to the above poverty line (APL) group or the Below Poverty Line(BPL) group can apply for their new ration cards through the web portal to complete the process in a hasty and comfortable manner. This registration has already begun and in order to check the same you will have to visit the official website of the Food and Civil Supplies Department of Uttar Pradesh.

The UP state government dispenses affordable rations of basic needs in grocery through its monthly rations based on the family size as well as economic status. This decision of standards is made by the gram pradhan whose office is also responsible for the dispensing of the food items. The government has adopted the National Food Security Act of 2013 and the rationing as well as quality control is strictly maintained by the government. For families that have either an annual pay which places them above the nationally standardized poverty line or below it, this ration is dispensed at different weights and rates. Those that have applied to get new ration cards for 2016 can check their names in the ration cards lists that have been uploaded village and district wise on the official web portal of Food and Supplies Department of UP.

To do so you will need a working internet connection and scanned copies of some documents that have to be attached to your form for successful submission.   1. Recent passport size photograph of the family head.
  2. A valid voter’s ID card number
  3. If Voter’s ID not available you can also use your Adhaar Card Number for identification.
  4. Complete annual income details of each member of the family and the total income of the family.
  5. Connection details of LPG.
  6. Bank Account Details of the head of the family.
  7. Ward Name and Number
  8. For BPL candidates a valid certificate for the same
  9. Name of the local shopkeeper in your area for ration.

  2. Click on the link for Ration Cards 2016-17
  3. Click on Lists of Approved ration cards 2016
  4. You can now check your name by two methods, the first is to do a direct search for your locality by entering your tehsil name and district name and downloading the pdf file to search for your name.
  5. You can also do a direct search by entering your aadhar card or voter ID number and tehsil name, district name in the search box.
  6. Alternatively you can download pdf files by clicking on districts and choosing your district and then your gram panchayat.
