The Samajwadi Supreme Mulayam Singh Yadav is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that the Modi driven wave of BJP that has swept across the nation and grabbed numerous states continues to remain in power in Uttar Pradesh as well. The leader is making sure all the strategies and the campaigning employed by the BJP workers in the state ensure a clear majority for the party in the upcoming UP elections 2017. His efforts seem to be reaping benefits as well, most news channels that have conducted survey polls about the elections seem to agree that BJP will emerge as the ruling party from these elections.
What worries the BJP is the confusion on if the party will be able to gather enough voters to secure a clear win. The election polls and the statistics are all hazy on this matter as well, claiming that a clear majority cannot be expected with the way things have been going for the party in the state. with loads of news and daily updates on the family feuds, it seems that voters will be curious to see the turn that Akhilesh Yadav will take and whether or not the current CM will separate from his parent party. As the elections approach straight ahead the growing turbulence in the state’s governance is a matter that raises the question of if the UP government for the next session will need an alliance to be formed.
BJP to face numerous challenges in the upcoming UP elections 2017
Most polls put the other leading parties SP and BSP competing for the second and third positions in the surveys. This is the cause of concern for BJP as a clear majority will put the reins in the hands of any party that succeeds in forming an alliance for majority in the house first. Rumors are that the SPA is already trying to form a co-alliance with the other leading parties to claim the governance this year. Mulayam Singh Yadav has already taken necessary action by sending Shivpal Yadav to Delhi for arranging an alliance for the BJP in Bihar. Shivpal will be coordinating meeting with numerous leaders including Ajit Singh from Rashtriya Lokdal, Sharad Yadav from JDU, and former Prime Minister Devgoda. All the leaders will be invited to attend the Rajat Jayanti Event for the party as well.
The idea of forming alliances is strong in Bihar, where the other national party Congress is also trying to get as many parties in its tent as it can. The members of Congress from Uttar Pradesh have suggested Rahul Gandhi to form an alliance for contesting the upcoming elections of State Legislative Assembly in Uttar Pradesh. Here are the other causes of concern for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.
- Most voters will drift towards the grand alliance if the other parties succeed in forming the same. It is expected that if such an alliance is formed, all the votes that are lost by BJP will drift directly to the bank of the Grand Alliance.
- Muslim can drift to the grand alliance on various sectarianism grounds
- Because the party is contesting this year’s election without a forefront face, voters may drift to the alliance where one of the party’s member will be representing the alliance as Chief minister candidate.
- If congress decides to lead the grand alliance, it can expect a clear win after the recent Farmer’s Rally that was headed by Rahul Gandhi in Uttar Pradesh. The success of the rally has created a huge impact on the farmers in the state.
- Most Jats from the western parts of the state seem to be completely in support of Ajit Singh.
- If the grand alliance can successfully get the support of BSP Supreme Mayawati, BJP will have to say goodbye to the throne for good.
