For all the students that have passed their 10th or 12th level education board exams this year in the month of March 2016, the Himachal Pradesh Government is about to awards scholarships. The scholarships are to be awarded to the top 600 rankers of 10th and 12th board exams 2016. The students that have cleared their boards in March 2016 from the Himachal Pradesh State Education Board and believe that they have achieved a top rank in the state lists can apply to get this scholarship.

The Scholarships will be available for 400 children from the 10th level boards. The 12th level science toppers up to the rank 100 will be chosen for scholarships and the 12th Commerce and Arts stream students too will be chosen from the top 100 ranker. The Himachal Pradesh School Education Board has already released the list with the state wise merit of the students for 10th as well as 12th level papers including Science and Commerce and Arts stream. The students that are within the merit list will have to first apply to the board for the scholarship. No student shall be awarded a scholarship unless they have applied to the HP school Education Board irrespective of their rank in state merit.

The list is available for downloading and checking on the official website of the education board. The candidates have been given the last date of up to 31st December 2016 to apply for their awards to the board. The process of application to get scholarship under the Himachal Pradesh Government for the March 2016 toppers has been based entirely online and the portal to register and apply will be open till 31st December 2016 only. Dr. Major Vishal Sharma revealed that the lists for merit have been uploaded on to the official website alongside the official application forms and the Agreement letter by the board. He said that those students that have already achieved scholarship under the Deputy Director Education’s Instructions will not be eligible for this scholarship.
HP Board Matric Plus Two Scholarship Results
The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HP BOSE) was founded in 1969 after the Himachal Pradesh Act No. 14 of 1968 and had its original headquarters situated in the state capital Shimla. In January 1983 the HP BOSE shifted its headquarters from Shimla to Dharamshala. What started as the agglomeration of 34 staff members working towards the development of the education system in the state schools, is now a 438 member family. The board is responsible for a variety of functions the most important of which is upholding the standards of education in all government, private semi-aided and non-aided schools functioning within the state. The board also prescribes the annual curriculum, syllabus, and the textbooks for each level of school education. Examinations in the state for the affiliated schools are conducted twice a year by the board where lacks of students appear each year. The board also organizes various seminars and workshops to train the teachers in the recent techniques of learning and education.

Currently more than 8000 schools in the state are affiliated with the HPBOSE and on an average a rough estimate of about 5 lac students appear annually in the examinations held by the board. Out of these lacks of students some stand out by achieving exemplary marks in their 10th, 10+2 level boards. These are awarded by the board in the form of gifts and scholarships each year. This year the board has decided to hand out 600 toppers with scholarships in the state.
